Nappy Holiday Social Re-Cap

Forgive me...I am supa dupa late on this post! *hangs head*I had a chance to attend my first natural hair event since I moved to Atlanta. I had a good time and met some great people. Nappy Holiday Social was hosted by the Atlanta Naturals last month (again *hangs head for posting so late*), with various product and accessory vendors. Here is my mini haul:
 With Fro Fashion Week approaching in February and The World Hair Show in April AND I knew I was going to put myself on a "no buy" later, I tried to keep purchases to a minimum.
 This is Oya, known as the Lady of Storms (or change), & Goddess of the Niger River. She is known as the protector of women ad assisting them in settling disputes in their favor. Her fun, flirty, but strong demeanor is what caught my attention which is why she has earned herself a coveted spot on my vanity table. Maybe she can help me fight a few battles with my hair.
 This is SOUL Love created by Shanda (pictured below), a painter in ATL. This picture also earned a coveted spot on my vanity!
PLEASE check out her work on her blog The Journey To My Dreams and her online portfolio http://shandartproductions.carbonmade.com/  She does fabulous paintings and sketches. Phenomenal! She is actually working on designing a blog logo for me and has already designed logo's for several other blogs.
While I was at Shanda's booth guest who I ran into:
@NaturallyTwisted
She is the author of the e-book "One Hairstyle, Thirty-one Ways" which is focused on various creative styles that utilize two-strand twists. It was great to meet her and how awesome it was to end up perusing the same booth at the same time and recognize each other.

I said I wasn't going to buy any hair products but they were 2 for $20 and smelled soooo good, and the ingredients were good to go sooooo. Yeah, I blame Ma Mocha Naturals for my lack of will power lol. This company offers favorite natural hair care products at discounted prices as well as offers one on one professional consults for your hair.
I purchased this cute crocheted flower from The Root Of The Matter ...because I "needed" more hair accessories lol
Let me tell you who I DIDN'T get to meet. @Mahoganybella and @Naturalbyl...I recognized Mahognaybella but wasn't sure if it was her or not (she was holding her sister's baby which threw me off lol) and was too shy to walk up and ask and I might have unknowingly walked past Naturalbyl....UGH! Every NH event I go to I miss someone. I'm just gonna start stealing the MC's mic and do shout outs so folks can find me LOL. But seriously...don't be shocked if you hear your name over the speakers. Its just me paging you! You've been warned LOL....
Natural Girls Rock was this past weekend and I missed it because tickets sold out *insert salty a## face here*. However Feb 1-5 is Fro Fashion Week and I WILL be in attendance *kisses my all access ticket*, check out the link for details. And The Good Hair Shop will be hosting a few meet and greets this Spring. The World Natural Hair Show is in April too so I think it will be easier to keep my Natural hair Social calendar full this Spring. Yay! Hope to see you at one of the upcoming events!
