My ends NEVA do exactly what I need for them to do so instead of letting them have a mind of their own I decided to tackle the issue head on. If I want them curly then they wanna be frizzy, if I want them straight then they curl up perfectly....fickle LOL! I've seen perm rods used before but was hesitant because I love to sleep and didn't want to lose any with them in my head. But I'm really glad I gave them a shot!
I used a combination of my beloved Nourish And Shine and Darcy's Botanical's Curling Cream Gel. To keep my twist smooth I used another technique I found on YouTube *giggles*: While doing each twist as I crossed 2 strands I would smooth my fingers down the hair before I twisted the hair around again. Helped distribute product evenly AND eliminated the little fly away hairs I some times end up with. The next morning, after a good nights sleep, my rods and twists were still smoothly in place
The next AM, smooth like butta baby!
Pre-fluff, which as you can see using the flat twist/two strand method there is no need to fluff a whole lot after separating. I could've easily slicked this back for a banging puff but I'm trying to stay on board with the "No Headband Movement"
My roded ends....think I'll be utilizing rods more often. They are $1 a pack at Sally's and definitely worth the investment!
Roll tucked the front to avoid a headband...
Tucked the sides too....
I've worn my hair out for 3 days...that's MAJOR for me! Ha ha! I will be twisting it back up tonight, wiggin' it for the week then Saturday my stylist Kiyomi will be doing a protective style for me. My goal is for it to last til Fro Fashion Week in February. I will rock a fro that weekend then...you guessed it! I'll be right back to PS'ing. I'm really proud of myself for wearing my hair loosely in the New Year and trying something outside of the norm for me. Looking forward to more experiments!&nbs p;
